When looking at a managerial job many people only look at the raise in pay that usually comes with the position. What is important to remember though is that with a raise in pay, also comes a raise in responsibilities. In a managerial position you will be responsible for others as well as yourself. So you have to be sure that you have total control over those working under you and be sure that they are working on a consistent basis to get their required job done properly.

Managerial positions also often require longer hours that you may not be compensated for. Most managerial jobs pay on a salary basis so you get paid the same amount of money each week whether you are there 40 hours or 50 hours. Many times you will have to sacrifice nights, weekends, and holidays as well. However, many of these sacrifices are often rewarded on a yearly or quarterly bias in the form of various bonuses.

All that aside, a managerial job can be a rewarding job and if you have what it takes to be a good manager then you can excel quite high up the corporate ladder as well. In order to be an ideal managerial candidate you have to:

• Be very well organized.
• Be able to delegate responsibilities.
• Be able to lead many and persuade them to work in totally cooperation with each other.
• Be responsible for your actions and those of anyone you are in charge of.

If this sounds like your cup of tea then a managerial job may be the job for you to go after.
